Eligibility Criteria for IELTS

Eligibility for taking the IELTS requires a minimum age of at least 16 years & a valid passport.

You will be eligible to take the exam if you fall into one of the categories:

    •  Planning to study in UK/Australia/Canada/New Zealand/USA
    • Being a medical professional, planning to work or study further in UK/Australia/USA
  • Planning to emigrate to Canada/Australia/New Zealand.

The version of IELTS you need to take will differ based on your purpose.

Apply for the Academic test if you want to study at a university or work in an English speaking country.

Go for the General Training test if you want to study below degree level, do work experience or training programs, or just migrate to an English-speaking country.

Just remember that all test takers take the same Listening and Speaking tests but different Reading and Writing tests.
